This corporation owned 4 Wendy’s restaurants in the Chicagoland area. The restaurants were not very profitable and the owner wanted to sell all the restaurants. I worked closely with the owner of the corporation and we devised a strategy in which we placed the corporation in a chapter 11 bankruptcy and then proceeded to sell the restaurants. I acted as the owner’s personal attorney after I found and retained an experienced bankruptcy attorney. During the bankruptcy we were able to sell off all the restaurants and convince the creditors of the corporation to agree not to pursue approximately $750,000 in personal obligations owed by the owner. This allowed the owner of the corporation to avoid having to file a personal bankruptcy.
